Our Approach: Reading The Site
We usually start with observing and listening to the place, reading and interpreting subtle characteristics andforces within and beyond the site’s immediate context and seeing how people are currently using it. We integrate human instinct and psychology in our work to produce designs that resonate on an intuitive and instinctual level; nature with human nature. We believe that ideas are universal and not owned by individuals and thus we welcome our clients and communities to a co-creative design approach.
Our Techniques: Geometry of Form
We employ a deep understanding and appreciation of the geometry of form. Planes, lines and points, elevation and intersection, horizontality and verticality, enclosure, access, scale, proportion and rhythm, human movement patterns and site signifiers are some of our design tools. Working with the geometry of form and movement allows us to create places that are responsive to human beings, that hold human activity well, that are playful and fun, flexible and adaptive, that can evolve and grow and which are thus true, beautiful and good.
Our Philosophy: Unity of all Life
We believe that, essentially, we are unified with each other and the earth at a higher spiritual level. Unity can be experienced in the human physical body through the senses. This concept opens up new possibilities for the designed environment. For example trees, plants and herbs, minerals, sand, stone and metals, wood, water, light, air and warmth, form and colour can be used for healing and balancing through proximity to our senses and psyches.
